Brev raised a $3.3M pre-seed round to build the AI-native layer between business goals and work. The round was led by Resolute Ventures, with participation from shuckerVC, Duro VC, Gaingels, and FOG Ventures.
More than anything, this post is a thank you.
Thank you to the operator community, founders, customers, and investors who saw the problem early, believed it was real, and helped us sharpen what Brev is becoming.
Execution is getting cheaper. Coordination isn’t.
As AI drives the cost of execution down, the bottleneck shifts upstream from doing the work to deciding what matters most — where to focus, how to stay aligned, and how to steer the business. Yet even in the most modern companies, that operating layer remains painfully manual: translating goals into plans, coordinating across teams, and piecing together fragmented context across systems to understand progress.
That layer is largely missing from both foundation models and the software stack built before them. The result is a huge amount of hand-cranked busy work — and despite all of it, most goals are still missed.
We think the reason is simple: there is still no AI-native system of record for execution.
The missing layer in modern software
Companies have systems for customers, money, people, and tasks. But no system understands what the business is committed to, who owns it, what’s actually happening, where execution is drifting, and what needs attention now.
With AI, that gap can finally be closed. At Brev, we’re building the AI-native layer between business goals and work.
What Brev does today
Today, that starts with the deep workflows operators live in every week: goals, reviews, and operating cadences. Brev connects to the systems teams already use, ingests structured and unstructured signals from across the business, and keeps execution current without adding another layer of manual reporting.
In practice, it’s like having a dedicated analyst for every goal, metric, and initiative across the company — with real-time visibility across every tool and system. Leaders get real-time clarity on where things stand. Teams spend less time chasing updates and preparing reviews for their weeklys, and more time focused on what actually moves the business forward.
Where this goes next
Over time, we believe this goes well beyond better OKR tracking or better reporting. The natural direction is software that doesn’t just observe execution, but increasingly helps drive it — continuously understanding company context, coordinating across teams and tools, and taking more of the work off people’s plates over time.
This round funds what's next: deeper integrations with the tools your work lives in, AI workflows grounded in your real goals and metrics, and a cohesive product from planning through execution.
We are still early. And we’re a small (but growing) team. But we feel incredibly fortunate to be building with organizations that are trusting us with real operating pain and have helped shape the product from the ground up.
Who we're building for
We’re especially grateful to the Chiefs of Staff, Heads of Ops, BizOps leaders, founders, and executives who have spent hours with us showing us how execution actually breaks inside real companies. Much of what Brev is today came directly from those conversations.
And to our customers, supporters, and earliest design partners: thank you for helping us build something we believe the most aspirational organizations will use to achieve their most audacious objectives.
There’s a lot ahead, and we’re excited to get back to building.
Try Brev with $100 free
As a gift to you, we’re offering $100 in free credits on our new self-service product at app.brev.io. We decided to launch with usage-based pricing, which means our pricing is directly tied to customer value, not headcount. As far as we know, we're the first execution software to charge purely on usage rather than seats :)

FAQ
How much has Brev raised and who are the investors?
Brev raised a $3.3M pre-seed round led by Resolute Ventures, with participation from shuckerVC, Duro VC, Gaingels, and FOG Ventures. The round funds development of the AI-native layer connecting business goals to work — a coordination problem that grows more expensive as AI drives execution costs down.
What problem is Brev solving with this funding?
Brev is solving the coordination problem created by AI acceleration. As AI drives the cost of doing work toward zero, the bottleneck shifts upstream: deciding what matters, staying aligned on goals, and steering the business in real time. That operating layer — strategy to execution — is still painfully manual at most companies. That's what Brev fixes.
What does "AI-native layer between goals and work" mean?
It means Brev connects company goals directly to the tools where work happens — Slack, Linear, GitHub, Salesforce, and more. Instead of humans manually reporting progress up the chain, Brev's agents watch the work, extract progress signals, and keep goal data current automatically. Goals update themselves. Leaders spend time on decisions, not data collection.
What stage is Brev at and who is the team?
Brev is a funded pre-seed company building AI-powered goal management for mid-market operations teams. The founding team includes Chris Pitchford, formerly VP of Sales at Ally.io (acquired by Microsoft) and CRO at VComply, and Vic Hu as CTO. The company is in stealth, invite-only, and focused on proving the product with early design partners.
